Safe Voice now available at EKA

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am truly happy to share with you that EKA now has access to SafeVoice.

SafeVoice offers a hotline, mobile app, and website to anonymously report threats to the safety or well-being of students. SafeVoice was established by the Nevada Department of Education and is operated in partnership with the Nevada Department of Public Safety.

If students wish to report anonymously, they can use SafeVoice as a way to speak up for their friends, the safety of their school, or themselves. We encourage students to take responsibility for helping to create a positive school climate and we think SafeVoice can help them do it.

Reports are Completely Confidential.
The reports submitted are received live 24/7/365 by trained call takers who will gather information, engage emergency responders if necessary, and pass the report on to a team of us here at school so that we may respond, letting students know a friend cared enough about them to share a concern. We will notify you according to our school policies and if the report raises a serious concern about your student’s well-being.

Examples of concerns that can be reported using SafeVoice include, but are not limited to:

  • Bullying / Cyber-bullying
  • Violence or weapons
  • Depression
  • Sexting
  • Self-harm
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Neglect
  • Substance abuse

The SafeVoice app is available for free in the Apple or Android stores. The reporting system can also be accessed by visiting or calling 833-216-SAFE. You will soon be able to find many resources for Parents and Students on the website and SafeVoice will be available to students on computers at our school.

I thank you for your support of your student in his or her success here at EKA. Together, we can accomplish great things, and SafeVoice can help.

2017-2018 Yearbooks

Pre-orders for the 2017-18 yearbooks are being accepted!

Please note: there are TWO yearbooks. One for elementary and one for secondary.

You can order your yearbook at:

  • Hardcover – $55
  • Softcover – $45
  • E-yearbook (PDF) – $25

Note: prices will go up starting April 10. April 15 is the last day to order yearbooks.

ALL yearbooks must be purchased online. Receipts MUST be saved in order to pick up your yearbook.

There WILL NOT be any extra yearbooks for purchase at the end of the year.

If you do not receive an email after ordering your yearbook, please check your order history to be sure the order was in fact completed.

Please note, these pictures and instructions are from previous year’s ordering process, but the process is generally the same.

Step 1:

Go to the Picaboo order website. At the left of the order page, choose “Secondary 2017-2018” for grades 6-12, choose “Elementary 2017-18” for grades K-5.

Once you have chosen either the Secondary or Elementary yearbook, click the “Order” button.  If you wish to order both Elementary and Secondary, you will need to make two separate purchases, one for Elementary and one for Secondary.

•Elementary yearbooks and Secondary yearbooks can not be ordered at the same time.

Step 3:

If you have not created an account you will need to click Register New Account and complete the registration form.  If you have already registered, you can log in and continue your order.

If you are purchasing yearbooks for more than 2 students, you may click “+ Add Another Student, Child, or Recipient” at the bottom to allow for more students.  Remember, if you chose “Elementary 2017-18” in Step 1, only enter elementary aged students at this point.  If you chose “Secondary 2017-2018”, only enter secondary aged students at this point.  Again, Elementary and Secondary yearbooks can not be ordered together.
