The Explore Knowledge Academy Board of Trustees in unanimity have chosen Abbe Mattson to fill the position of Executive Director at EKA.

Ms. Mattson has worked at EKA from 2004 to 2009.  During that time she had the opportunity to work with both the Elementary program as a substitute teacher, and the secondary program as long term substitute and full time advisor.

Ms. Mattson is very experienced in the philosophies of EKA.  While working at EKA, she has had the chance to work with EdVisions and is familiar with both the EdVisions instructional model as well as the governance model.  These two models have had great influence on EKA and her experience with them will further solidify EKA's excellent programs.

Ms. Mattons is familiar with this school's charter, with Nevada's statutes and regulations regarding public schools and public charter schools, and brings with her the business experience of a business owner.

EKA looks forward to working with Ms. Mattson as it continues to work towards providing a safe, values-based environment where learning is maximized.
