Here is your Explore Knowledge Academy Elementary Campus Parent Update.  Copies are available in the front office.

EKA PTSA flyers are also available in the front office of Sandhill or Community Lane with all of their upcoming events.

Carnival

Our carnival was a great success!  So many booths and raffle items.  Many thanks go to our wonderful PTSA and all the parents, staff and students that came together to make this an awesome event for our families.

PTSA Skate Party

Our monthly skate party is coming up Wednesday May 19, 2010.  It will be held from 3:30 to 6:00pm.  $5.00 gets your student skate rental, a slice of pizza or a hotdog and a soda.  Parents skate free!

Free Knitting/Crochet Class

There are free knitting classes at lunchtimes, every Wednesday, at the Sandhill Campus.  Any parents wishing to donate yarn, knitting and crochet needles, time, it would be greatly appreciated.  We have a good group of kids knitting; it is fun to see them so excited about it.  Contact Koreen Chapman with any questions or to drop off donations.

Yearbooks

Pre-ordering for yearbooks is now closed.  We will have some extras, so when they arrive you may be able purchase one.

Talent Show

Our annual talent show will be a two day event.  On May 20th our 3rd and 4th graders will perform.  Then on May 21st the 5th and 6th graders take the stage.  Shows will begin approximately at 1pm.  Parents and siblings are more than welcome to attend.

 Field Day

We will be having a K thru 6 Field Day on Wednesday June 2, 2010.  Students may be getting wet during field day activities so please have them dress in clothes you do not mind getting wet.

 Adventuredome

Our 5/6 classes will be going to the Adventuredome for the day on Thursday June 3rd.  In order for students to participate, they must be earning at least a 70% in all classes.  They must also follow the behavioral expectations of EKA.   The final date to turn in the field trip money and permission form will be Thursday May 27th.  Students will be dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon at the Adventuredome.  You can pick up field trip forms from your student's advisor or at the front desk of the Sandhill campus.

Last Day of School

The last day of school will be Friday June 4, 2010.  Students will be released at our regular time.  Please come by and check the lost and found for any items that might be your child's.  Anything left here after June 4th will be donated to a charitable organization.
