9/25/2009 Cross Country team has another outstanding performance Steve Delgado (6th grader) had another outstanding run with a second place finish in the 5th/6th grade boys race. Joel Walls finished in 12th place and Blake Smith came in 15th place. In the 5th/6th grade girls race, Kylie Keyer lead the girls with a 11th place finish and was closely followed by Marygrace Head in 15th place. Other finishers for EKA were Brandi Newell in 24th place, Ashley Smith in 30th place, Emily Piacitilli in 34th place and Amber Smith in 49th place. Triana Charles improved to a 5th place finish and teammates Stephanie Truss-Sase finished in 19th place and Brittany Maler came in 22nd place. In the final race of the afternoon, Alex Burns had a strong first race with a 14th place finish, Eithan Maler came in 17th place, Bradley Keyer in 20th place and Matt Bentley finished in 26th place. The cross country team competes again on Wednesday, September 30th at Las Vegas Day School. 9/21/2009 EKA MIDDLE SCHOOLERS COMPETE IN FIRST CROSS COUNTRY MEET OF THE SEASON
EKA middle school (grades 5th-8th) cross country athletes competed at Faith Lutheran Jr./Sr. High School on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 for the first cross country meet of the season for the Red Rock Athletic Conference. EKA had 13 middle school runners compete. The cross country meet was comprised of four races: 5th/6th grade boys, 5th/6th grade girls, 7th/8th grade girls and finally, 7th/8th grade boys. The top EKA male performance in the 5th/6th boys race came from 6th grader Steve Delgado who finished 3rd overall and the top EKA female performance in 5th/6th grade girls race was 5th grader Kylie Keyer who finished 15th overall. Also, racing well in the 7th/8th grade girls race was 8th grader Triana Charles who finished 6th overall. In the 7th/8th grade boys race, 8th grader Eithan Maler finished 13th to be EKA's top finisher in this race. EKA had solid performances from all the team's participants. Thanks to everyone who came out to support our student athletes. EKA's next cross country meet is Wednesday, September 23rd at Las Vegas Day School beginning at 4:30pm for the first race.

Explore Knowledge Academy 5th/6th Grade and 7th/8th Grade Boys and Girls Cross-Country Team Explore Knowledge Academy has been invited to join in with the Red Rock Athletic Conference 5th/6th Grade and 7th/8th Grade Boys and Girls Cross-Country season this year. This will be the first year that Explore Knowledge Academy will be fielding an interscholastic Cross-Country team that will be competing against other schools. Please come support our student athletes at the following sites. The races will begin approximately 4:00pm.
