A meeting of the EKA Board of Trustees is scheduled for June 3, 2010 at 4 p.m. to be held at 4801 S Sandhill Rd, Las Vegas, NV  89121.

Secondary is holding their pep rally on June 2 starting at 1pm at the Painter's Union hall next to the Whitney Mesa campus. Parents and students in grade six are invited. The rally will include a talent show and academic awards.

UPDATE: Voting for the board members will take place at all three campuses via ballot.  Voting will close on June 3rd at 3:15 pm.  Results will be given at the June 3rd board meeting.

It is time for our annual EKA Board of Trustees election. We would appreciate your help in recruiting candidates for our Board of Trustees. Board members may be parents of EKA students; however, it is not a requirement.

Board members’ terms are for two years and the terms are staggered so that four members are elected in one year and three the next year. According to NRS 386.549, three members are required to hold a teaching license and have at least two years of experience as a full time teacher. This year there are three vacancies and the applicants must hold a current Nevada teaching license. A board member cannot be an employee of the school, a member of an employee’s immediate family, or a member of a current board member’s immediate family.

The Hershey State Track Meet was held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 9am at Western High School.  The girls 5^th/6^th grade 4x100 relay (Kylie Keyer, Yamilei Rodriguez, Imani Soares-Benford & Brandi Newell) finished in 1^st place with a season best time.  The following EKA tracksters also had outstanding performances:
