Grades 6-12 Tour

EKA’s secondary school serves students grades 6 through 12.  Students at EKA have a 4 day work week (Tu – Fri).  Mondays are expected to be used as home learning days.

Advisories are multi-age and grouped by ranges of grades.  Students will often have the same advisor for several years.  This provides strong mentor-mentee relationships.

Secondary students complete projects throughout the year and time is provided during the day for project learning. Block classes are held in the morning and teach the more traditional courses such as English and math.  During block classes, students participate in mini-projects that are initiated by the advisor.

Every student receives an iPad or Chromebook for their use while on campus.  iPads are used in all classes, except PE for grades K-3.  Chromebooks are used in grades 4-12. EKA has a healthy hot lunch program as well as vending machines where students can purchase nutritional food and drink.
