Abbe Mattson, Executive Director

• Abbe Mattson has been Executive Director of Explore Knowledge Academy since June of 2010.   Abbe started her professional career in 1985 as a physicist supporting the weapons test program at the Nevada Test Site.  In 1990, she began her own commercial construction firm. Due to a desire to spend more time with her family, she changed careers and began teaching in 2001.  Her youngest daughter started attending EKA in 2003 and her eldest soon followed.  That year, Abbe began working as a visiting advisor. She became a full-time advisor in 2004. She served as lead advisor for the secondary team and received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership in 2007.  She is currently pursuing a PhD in Charter School Leadership from Walden University and is proud to be Explore Knowledge Academy’s educational leader.
